I've had a lifelong fascination with attempting to capture the wonder of trees—their colours, textures, shadows, shapes and spaces. My unique 3D tree collages are created from naturally formed abstract and lightfast watercolour shapes on high-quality, acid-free paper, exploring how individual elements come together to create a whole.

I allow water, air and gravity to shape the paint, avoiding human manipulation so each form retains its natural character. Carefully preserved with a scalpel and layered with a fine white border, these small "treasures" slowly grow into intricate tree forms.

The process is intentionally slow and contemplative, allowing shapes to reveal their own meaning—much like cloud-spotting. Viewers may initially see a tree, then discover the individual forms that create it, revealing that these are not traditional two-dimensional paintings but sculptural compositions.

My floating "deconstructed trees" preserve delicate ink forms between panes of glass, creating a three-dimensional artwork where light and shadow become part of the piece.

I also have a growing interest in ceramics, with my latest series inspired by the naturally occurring cracks and patterns found in pavements.
